Fried rice is a quick and easy dish that can be made with leftover rice. It is a popular dish in many Asian countries, and there are many different variations of the dish. Here is a simple recipe for fried rice:
Ingredients:
2 cups leftover rice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 onion, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1/2 cup frozen peas
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
Add the onion and carrot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the peas and cook for 1 minute more.
Push the vegetables to the side of the pan and add the eggs. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
Add the rice, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cook until heated through, about 2 minutes.
Tips:
For a more flavorful fried rice, use day-old rice. Freshly cooked rice will be too wet and will make the fried rice mushy.
If you don't have a wok, you can use a large skillet. Just be sure to use a high heat so that the rice doesn't stick to the pan.
You can add other vegetables to your fried rice, such as broccoli, mushrooms, or bell peppers. You can also add meat, such as chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
Serve fried rice with your favorite sides, such as soy sauce, sriracha sauce, or sesame oil.
